Bug - deleting/unlocking students from Gradebook not resetting for students
Sometimes I will unlock or delete a student's response but then they are not able to go back in and record. This seems to be a glitch in the new gradebook feature.
Thanks, Michael! We'll start testing some of these scenarios on our end to try to replicate the issue. No need to "test" on your end but please do keep looking for a pattern as you are already.
I cannot seem to find a pattern. Perhaps it's because it tends to happen when I'm doing a graded assessment and kids "accidentally" lock themselves out. If my memory serves me correctly, it may happen if they're locked out more than 1x for the same question, but that is something that we may need to test out when kids aren't calling my name during a test like they're on fire.
Is this happening every-time you reset or delete a submission, half the time, or only occasionally?
If you can please email me (sam.slagle@extemporeapp.com) with the Gradebook URL and a screenshot of what you're seeing when this or next time it happens so we can take a closer look?
The gradebook URL when you're seeing a submission but are unable to grade would be helpful to troubleshoot.
I have noticed that this happens even when they refresh. I will then go over to their computers and they are not able to access the question again.
There have been other instances where it appears that the student hasn't submitted but there is a recording there but I am not able to score it. It's quite strange.
Hi Michael, can you please confirm that students are refreshing their screen after the submission has been deleted or unlocked? If they are refreshing, is the question continuing to show in the same status on the students end?
P.S. If you click on the students name in the first column of the gradebook you have the option to "View Account" -- Rather than asking students to check again, that's a nice way to be able to check on your end.
