I have started to use the Extempore app for many at home quizzes, but students are stressing out about the screen going grey and flashing the numbers 3-2-1 in their face when they are about to be prompted to record (especially if they have already been given a parameter for a specific time to prepare a response). Is there a way that a count down timer could be less (literally ) in a student's face?
We didn't used to have the 3-2-1 so in their faces and this was added after feedback stating that students weren't aware that the recording had started.
Do you think the way the 3-2-1 countdown should function the way it does today when the "Time to Review" ends so that it's clear to students that the recording is starting? I can see when students click "Record" that the 3-2-1 delay after they expect the recording to begin could be the stressful. I just want to make sure we're considering both scenarios.
I agree--I too find this a bit stressful.
