Teacher Feedback on 'Ongoing Assessment' Feature

Currently, after students respond to each question they are brought back to the question list where they can wait to open the next question. This gives students the opportunity to pause between questions, potentially record content from a different device to transcribe or cheat, and slows down the flow the assessment that teachers might want to maintain.

Why is This Important?

  • Academic Integrity: The 'Ongoing Assessment' feature aims to enhance the integrity of assessments by minimizing opportunities for cheating or unauthorized information gathering.

  • Spontaneity in Responses for All Responses: By enforcing a continuous flow of questions, students are encouraged to respond spontaneously, better reflecting their true language proficiency.

  • Teacher Control: This feature allows teachers to maintain a higher degree of control over the assessment environment, ensuring that the assessments are fair and consistent.

Proposed Changes with 'Ongoing Assessment'

  • Continuous Question Flow: Once a student starts the assessment, they will move from one question to the next without returning to the question list. This flow is designed to mirror real-life conversations or tests where responses are immediate and unplanned.

Assessment types this applies to?

  • This would only apply for Individual Assessments since Group Assessments can only include a single question currently.

  • Supported response types would be Video, Audio, Written, Multiple Choice, and Simulated Conversation question types
